Akurasense
IoT-enabled real-time temperature & geo-location monitoring.
IoT Enabled Monitoring
Akurasense is an CFR IoT-enabled medical sample cold chain asset management tool. It provides the complete tools a medical courier operation requires to ensure end-to-end specimen cold chain integrity while easily and effectively providing the ability to manage a multi-location operation on a single platform.
The system is delivered pre-configured to provide the following features:
The medical courier company operations Admin receives access to view all fixed assets (freezers/refrigerators/cold room), mobile assets (medical courier totes), and all scheduled courier trips at each warehouse location in their network. The Admin is able to run conformance reports for all locations, assign access roles to users, and run analytic reports for continuous improvement.
Each Warehouse Manager has access to configure and view all fixed assets (freezers/refrigerators/cold room), mobile assets (medical courier totes), and all scheduled courier trips at their individual location. The Admin is able to run conformance reports for assets at its location.
The Warehouse Manager’s role is to ensure that PCM elements are fully conditioned before they are placed in a medical courier tote, each courier trip is assigned the appropriate courier tote, the appropriate vehicle sensor is assigned to the trip, and temperature escalation notifications are accurately set up for each Fixed Asset Sensor, Tote Sensor, and Vehicle Sensor.
Each Courier’s role is to ensure that their mobile gateway can read each of the tote BLE sensors and vehicle 4G sensor assigned to their trip before they start their trip on the mobile gateway. The mobile gateway travels with the totes to communicate with the BLE temperature sensors within each specimen transport tote and upload real-time data to the cloud via the LTE network. The vehicle temperature & location 4G sensor is placed within the courier vehicle to monitor the vehicle’s ambient temperature and location. The courier receives notifications on their personal phone devices through an app if the vehicle temperature or tote temperature experiences an excursion. At the end of the day, the courier will end the trip on the mobile gateway for the warehouse manager to prepare trip reports. Monitoring the vehicle’s ambient temperature and location allows better root cause analysis of temperature excursions within a specimen transport carrier tote.
