Client Stories: Sena Sea’s Wild Alaskan Seafood delivered reliably with Akuratemp

Business Challenge

Sena Sea provides high quality seafood from the pristine waters of Alaska, fresh to the customers table, in the most sustainable and ethical way possible. They custom cut, vacuum seal, and flash freeze the fish immediately after catching. Sena Sea had been using dry-ice and gel packs to ship seafood, which was a higher cost and less eco-friendly shipping method.

Looking for a more sustainable and reliable solution, Sena Sea started using Akuratemp’s PCM technology for economical temperature-control of its products during shipping, which resulted in significant savings and reduced their dry-ice usage.

Akuratemp partnered with Sena Sea to provide them with PCM (Phase Change Material) Frozen Booster Packs as an alternative to reduce the amount of both gel packs and dry-ice, while keeping the seafood frozen during the entire shipping process via a 2-day UPS network.
